Might be preaching to the converted, but...........
Bit of advice - it would be seriously good to bolt the tube frame to summat heavy and flat, then randomly weld joints.

If not, Mr. Distortion will pay an unwelcome visit.

I guess you know to "pulse weld" the joints too?

I used to build cages (and more) - from BTCC to WRC cars.

Small block was sold and this was 'obtained'

it's a truck motor!

the inlet manifold is really tall as is the sump so they will be swapped for car versions to avoid dragging them along the ground

anyway as it sits as I am pulling it apart to get it on the engine stand and give the heads a freshen up

cleaned up the heads had them hot washed at bobharman.com performance then scraped the stubborn carbon off then jet washed them. I put new stem seals in and lapped the valves

only problem ive got now is the damn roof is leaking onto the chassis and being a carlton....well you know the rest! So I fitted the bonnet back on as a temporary measure until i can get the roof fixed - fantastic!

this is me trying to get the motor plates in, need to make sure they're the right distance apart and the mid plate at the right angle - about 3 degrees! not especially easy!!

I got a third member from the states and rear axles so I could put the rear wheels on
then draped myself over the rear crossmember to fit them which was fairly uncomfortable!
