Fuel pumps
« on: August 13, 2018, 12:44:04 PM »
Which Carltons had internal or external fuel pumps? I'm trying to find a fuel damper which being a Bosch part was used on loads of cars but with the external pump. Give me more option if I knew which models had the external pump?

Hello doz,
I'm pretty sure that my 2.0 litre  1991 Carlton CDX has an external fuel p\p. If my memory serves me well this was checked by the RAC when I had trouble starting the car earlier in the year. I'm sorry that I cannot offer any further advice at this stage, perhaps fellow members can help.

My J(92) reg 2.0 CDX and L(93) reg 2.0 CD had/have external pumps. Both have CATs in case that makes a different.
1993 2.0 CD(X)i Auto Estate (Rioja Red very little tin worm & reasonable paint).
RIP - 1992 2.0 CDXi Manual Estate (Spectral Blue with far too much tin worm, now only parts).

most of them used the external damper at the rear part number GM 90019987, I believe Bosch no longer make them and are very difficult to find at a sensible price, think they were used on most Bosch injected models of the era eg BMW/Porkers/Ferrari etc
