ABS light stayed on.
« on: February 07, 2018, 01:33:45 PM »
Hello all,
Its the turn of my cars ABS to provide a topic of interest this time.
The ABS light came on as usual when the ignition was turned on but ceased to go off after the engine was started.
I drove the car for only a short journey - about 2 miles and the light stayed on.
Since then I have driven the car for a number of journeys and the lights came on during its normal starting procedure
and gone off directly after the engine was running.

Ideas and comments welcome.

Probably one of the 3 relays stuck on ,but has now decided to play ball  ;)
(because it stayed on) ,
had it gone out ,then come back on when you moved, it could have been a bit of crud on 1 of the 4 reluctor rings
If the above post contains spelling mistakes / grammatical errors / poor use of the quote function / a very weak retort, or is generally shyte; it's because I'm feked on a cocktail of drugs, homebrew and carb cleaner.sorry

Hello Dave the Builder,
Thanks for your reply, its much appreciated.
I shall now be waiting for a return match, surely it won't stay at this and behave itself.
We'll see.

If its the relay, it'll be the one with the part number ending in 791, although at this time of year its just a likely that the sensor or the ring is full of crud!

Just to bring you up to date, the ABS light now seems to be behaving itself, at least for the moment anyway.
