Diamond 24v breaking
« on: November 11, 2016, 03:33:36 PM »
Due to ill health and lack of funds i have decided to break/sell my Diamond the car has had the engine completely rebuilt with abs chains new guides as well as bearings and rings the head has been skimmed and ported and flowed and hasnt been used on the road since! The shell is in need of the usual tlw and a new screen and tailgate plus a few other odds and ends due to the engine work i want 1500 for the whole car or 1200 for the engine (to do just the chains and guides costs around 2000) so not that steep really!

Chris. Is that the one that was kept in your garage ?.
1993 2.0 CD(X)i Auto Estate (Rioja Red very little tin worm & reasonable paint).
RIP - 1992 2.0 CDXi Manual Estate (Spectral Blue with far too much tin worm, now only parts).

looked at the vec c ,not a bad motorsize and looks wise,
but the high number of fly wheel and manual gear box failures was discouraging  :-\

Mrs Builder has an astra G 8v estate ,which now "DTB rustproofed" and with my minor tweeks ,plods on without issue
returning 40 mpg ,albeit the front wheels provide the traction   :P

That is why i need a new flywheel and clutch! Lol
But with just under 200bhp and more torque than a 24v what do I expect.
Oh and it has the wrong flywheel on it as well it is the 8v cdti one which is 2mm thinner....
