1993 2.0 NE miss firing

hello boys n girls, I have a 93 2.0 NE with only 60,000 miles when I first bought it last summer it miss fired slightly on tick over so I changed the distributor cap rotor arm 8mm bosch leads plugs, it still miss fires slightly on tick over! any suggestions? maybe something in the ignition system somewhere? ide appreciate some ideas.

I had a similar thing on a 2.0 years ago turned out to be a chipped valve
Do a compression test first and go from there
what would life be like if we all drove fwd cars? feckin boring that's what rear drive or bust

And there was me thinking ide get away with not taking the head off, it has had the head off as it's got replacement head bolts. Cheers Chris will investigate.....

Just changed the coil on mine and it's improved the running no end!
Thought it could with a change after 23 years and 120.000 mls  ;)

It may be worth cleaning up all the earths and beefing up the earth strap between alternator and cam housing .
and check all engine management loom connections are clean.

Thanks gentlemen I will fit a new coil and have a look at the earths, I don't know why I didn't think of that  ;D
