Bose stereo in carlton
« on: July 15, 2013, 09:24:17 PM »
Evening all

Has anyone ever fitted a Bose stereo from an omega to a carlton. Or do you need the head unit too? Have an opportunity to get one and thought they were great when I had an elite a few years back!

Probably a redicilous idea but hey ho

I admit they do sound good but the practicality is not good especially when the speakers deteriorate, they are 2ohm aren't they? everything else OEM and aftermarket is 4 ohm.

I would imagine trying to get parts would be really really expensive wouldn't it?

In order for it to work you would need the whole kit and caboodle IIRC.

Best of luck though.

Agree with all of that.
Among Omega owners it's called 'the Bose trap'.

Ha ha used to think it was great on my old one!

Anyway you have both successfully talked me out of my stupid idle thoughts! As if I didn't have enough to concentrate on.

Thanks for feedback though!

As long as you have a good head unit, the best upgrade is a decent set of speakers, after all you are not going to be listening to 'Hi Fidelity' when driving the car are you. all that road and wind noise distorting the 'true' sound of a Bose set up. LOL

saying that I do have a Bose SoundDock in the house that sounds amazing.
