Analogue to digital dash conversion
« on: October 10, 2011, 08:47:11 PM »
Got this posted up on the ABS but not getting much response.

Ive got an analogue equiped auto CDX that Im hoping to put a digi dash in along with the engine and manual box from my GSi.

Ive managed to get the rev counter, speedo, coolant temp, fuel gauge and battery level working correctly and all the lights along the bottom of the dash work. Theres no oil pressure because it seems there is no pressure sender on the engine! but thats easy enough to sort.

The problem Im having now is the dash only illuminates when you turn the sidelights on (you can then adjust the brightness as well), the analogue dash wouldnt of needed illumination with variable brightness control without the lights on, not too sure how to get round this, is there a different output from the headlight switch assembly I need to be splicing into?

The other problem is 5 of the 6 central warning lights are on permernantly, this wirings still in progress so hopefully get that sorted when I get back this weekend.

Any useful input would be much appreciated!
