Hi all,

New to posting on the forum, but i have been browsing around the site for quite a while. My names Bevan and i'm from Ireland i have a H reg black 24v Gsi, and have been into carlton's for some time now. A friend of mine who's also a member on the site got me into carlton's he's been through six now and also has a mv6 omega at the moment.

I'm usually more into Jap and other Euro brands, but have had a few vauxhalls along the line including a Corsa Gsi, a calibra 16v and a vectra Sri. Looking forward to learning more on the site and hopefully sourcing parts to maintain and improve my current GSi as well as possibly buying a second GSi along the line.

Thanks
Bevan

Thanks for the welcomes.

Pics below of my black GSi and one of my mates GSi's he has two at the moment and an mv6 omega.

Bought it with a few electrical problems and a rotten radiator. But it drives reasonibly well for the money that changed hands. Needs pretty serious welding to the rear pockets and the o/s sill and a few other spots but i'll get to that.

Ah yeah for 300 quid it's not the worst really. I've driven better but i've also driven worse at that money it's a keeper anyway i've plenty of storage space so i'm going to get to it in bits and pieces. The indicators don't work neither do the front power windows ans the sunroof is intermittant. Probably just fuses, i've checked all the relays, but had no time to go any further.

Thanks lads,

First things first, i'm looking to get the rot sorted. My friends last carlton was decatted and had a chip in and i noticed a fair improvement in torque so thats on the list. The car is sitting outside a friends house about 200 miles away i've only seen it for literally five minutes. I noticed it wallows a little in the corners so i reckon the springs are cut rather than lowered and it probably needs bushings replacing etc etc, i'll always find things to spend money on don't worry.

I'll get home next weekend so i'll do a diff, gearbox and engine fluid change basically a full service and hopefully by that stage i'll have a radiator on the way so i can bung that in and maybe get a fresh thermostat and water pump on there too. It's pretty solid around the rear doors, around the inner fletches and chassis legs, but the rear inner arches are starting to go. The pockets are well gone though.
