oh yeah, need to sort the earthing out as well where I moved the battery behind the seat, as now if you use the horn while braking it fires the ABS!   Lips Sealed

Easy fix though.

Advisories on
-evidence of fuel leak, but no fuel leak LOL

Had this on mine once, checked underneath, found it was a loose bolt where something or other goes into the fuel tank (Good bit of technical description there!), only showed up when the car was running...

I think i've got 4 or 5 spare rads!!  I'm sure most of them are auto ones, but i may have a manual one still.  Auto ones are fine though, my track car still has an auto rad & that's been manual for ages!!

This thread needs updating!

New rims Smiley

I'm so stupidly happy now I have dish! I don't need drugs, just wide wheels Cheesy

Just gotta fold the lips on the rear arches and shes a peach to go, as its currently rubbing the arch on the RIM, not the tyre! DOH!

Fronts too high now though, but I cant drop it anymore until Ive done the downpipe properly (grounding out atm)

Those with sharp eyes will have also seen the car in.....

Total Vauxhall - Billing show report..... front on view though so kinda missing the point! LOL
Retro Cars - Retro Rides Gathering report
Retro Cars - Ace Cafe Report
Performance VW! - Ace Cafe Report

Shes just a mag tart now! LOL. Amusingly the most press she ever got (at RAF Marham trackday over a year ago.... half a page in Total Vauxhall!) was when she was standard LOL
Got some TOTALCARLTON.COM stickers  to go on the sideskirts when I finally fix them on properly.

Speaking of Marham.... went and had an excellent day! Car behaved all day long, even with continuous drift abuse. I didnt get any grief from the marshals either so they must of been happy I was in control. Johnny A was there having a great time too..... pics....

Thats my friend who came along, Johnnys car in the background.

Oh yes, after my cooling woes I got hold of a 2" thick aluminium one destined for a nissan S14. The width and height looked right and the pipe connections were roughly in the right place so I gave it a go. She seems better behaved on temperature now, although it wasnt a direct fit. Had to make new mounting points and also the slam panel needed 'fettling'. 2 pipes needed adjustment too. Will get pictures of it up at some point Smiley

Fronts too high now though, but I cant drop it anymore until Ive done the downpipe properly (grounding out atm)

Advice

Go see some powerflow place - tell em to

Cut the downpipes just after the manifold

Extend the twin pipes (primary) to just under the car bodyshell (smaller diameter pipes can sit closer to the shell (snug)

Join the two pipes there for more clearnance and extend the lambda wires so you can keep the sensor

The primarys are way too short  Wink

I have the exact length somewhere from Exhaust valve to primary end but thats pretty much where it should be and a few inches either way won't make much difference

Third gear drifts might not be so much of a problem then  Grin

hadnt thought of that BC! top thinking!

thanks for the kind comments everyone Smiley

The rims were excellently priced IMO, esp as they had brand newish tyres (still with the remnants of the stickers) and were advertised on a mainly FWD vauxhall forum where they wouldnt easily fit anything Cheesy

fronts are 8.5x17 et19
rears are 9x17 et22

I may have the offsets the wrong way round, cant remember! The rear archs needed a tiny bit of fettling to make them fit. Not too bad at all.
