hi for all those that dont know me i have a custom one off carlton see other posts for pics of it any way i took the car for an mot and guess what IT FAILED mainly on welding rear sills both sides what made matters worse was i got a new sill for 21 quid and when the went to weld it they discovered a big problem the wheel arch the bit inside the door was made completly of fibreglass and when the arches were cut for the lotus arches they dident reweld the skins back together the stupid fucker so now ive had to buy a wheel arch at a cost os 21quid to be welded the only other things it failed on were one tire a couple of bulb and thats it not bad for a freg car i think how about u lot?

The Lotus Kit "Hey get the tin snips out" Syndrome seems to be a common thing sadly Sad Sad Sad

Glad you got it sorted structurally tho! Smiley Im hoping mine will make it through the next MOT without welding  Undecided

Not bad at all, matey - it's worth getting the sills and arches done, I know it's a pain, but usually has to be done at some point. Wink

Good luck! Grin

You'll only need to use the wheel arch for the door shut section of it - you've got a lotus kit bunged over the top of the arch, so it doesn't matter what it looks like underneath as long as it's solid!

You'll get it sorted with no problems mate, doesn't sound that bad really.

It's when you've got to weld in metal arches and make them look good thats the problem. Especially if they've been nibbled out with wobbley edges and banged over a bit of wood with a toffee hammer.

Filler is an autobleche senator repair arch's best friend! Grin
