Hi, just wondered if anybody else has been getting spammed lately...
Reason I ask is my Carltonjohn email address is only used for this forum, lately I have been spammed by dating agencies, bogus building societys/banks, about the only thing I haven't received yet is an offer for cheap Viagra!

Is somebody harvesting email addresses from our site?

AFAIK, they can only rob email addies (and phone numbers or any other personal info), if the info is posted on the forum - I don't think they can glean anything from your profile, but there's some sad twats out there that will create programmes to do all sorts. Roll Eyes

TBH its just a matter of being on the internet. if you write your email down anywhere on the web, and I mean anywhere, then it WILL be harvested by a spider at somepoint.

Think they are even getting wise to the myemail (at) somewhere (dot) com get around that people used to avoid it for a while.

Your profile can be presented in a web page by clicking on your username, so its probably that page that they are nicking it from.
