TC is what is is and always has been, a Forum.
There have been lots of discussions about becoming a club in its own right but there are many issues and costs involved in this.
The Best option was to become affiliated to an existing club, really only 2 options there ABS or VODC, for lots of reasons VODC is easily the best option. ABS is too restrictive.
A lot of people on here were already members of VODC or ABS anyway. Benefits of VBOA club membership easily offset any cost involved to members, lots of discounts, regular meets and 'proper' attendance at Billing.
I don't see it as a take over, TC still thrives and whilst a couple of influentual members are not particularly active anymore that is really down to thier own circumstances and no issue with VODC.
There has been a reduction in non-carlton related postings but otherwise the forum is still very active and healthy.
You dont have to be a member of VODC to be on TC, think of it more as the club that TC recommends.
There will be 18 Carltons on the VODC stand at Billing this year if all who have booked show up!!!
