Don't you need to advance the ignition, or have a knock sensor to take advantage of 100 RON ?
Or am I just being a party pooper ?

knock sensors are used on cat cars (mostly) to feed back into the ecu telling it to retard the ignition avgas will produce no knock as being leaded and at 100 ron its not gonna pink ever!!!!!!!

I always thought Avgas was 105 octane! Hence the name Avgas, cause it is AVIATION fuel.!!!!!!!
You know, that stuff that falls from the sky, all over your shiney paintwork if you live on the flight paths !! Embarrassed
Unforrtunatley I do, now they opened that stupid Robin Hood airport, more commonly know as Doncaster, or better still RAF Finningly.

It's £1 in Leeds now.

There is a No Fuel Day on Monday 19th of november.

I think the idea is that we just don't buy any fuel that day.

Worth a go. I'll make sure I fill up on the sunday.

I like cheap petrol as much as anyone, but I always keep in mind that if I have to drive only 2.5 miles to get to a station that is offering it 1p cheaper, that works out to about 50p (0.5 litres) and let's forget the fact that you then have to drive that 2.5 miles back.
Then you see people queing ( because everyone else has gone there also) sitting in their car with the engine running at 0.3 galls/hr consumption.
If you only sit for 5 minutes, that's another 12p, making a grand total of 62p spent on getting say 40 litres 1p cheaper.
Even if it were 2p cheaper, you will have saved a grand total of 18p - - - even i'm not that tight !

Yes it is rather.  I didn't get the full story. Apparently we need to boycott Esso and BP as they are the biggest util they reduce their prices.

Opec recently denied requests to increase output, why wouldn't they as they will be raking it in.

Btw. Do you know about peak oil theory supposedly being a scam?  I haven't looked into it deeply myself but apparently there is no shortage of  reserves and new ones keep poping up all the time.
