Well it went out for a spin on Sunday, oh boy how nice was it to drive. The brand new secondhand motor was sweet as a nut. No smoke, knocks nothing! I know its still early days but the first trip out was good!

Two problems however. Fault 93 (or was it 94?) - Camshaft Position sensor Highvoltage. Only when at about 4500rpm.
Had to test the dual ram didnt I? It flashed briefly then went.

Any ideas?

The other fault is the fuel computer/clock doofa. It lights up with the dash lights but there is no info or clock on it. Anyone else had this problem? Fuse?

It was too dark to look at fuses and I didnt have a torch and I thought the zippo was a bad idea for a source of light....

MOT next week....

Just possible that you have the same fault I had in the link above ?

I guess the dual ram system is not dissimilar to mine which is the 2.6 L

Or maybe a cracked vacuum resevoir; I believe that is a fairly common fault.

All sorted - apart from the leccy ariel.

I had a short in the towing electrics which kept blowing the fuse.

Fault code gone - recentered the dizzy.

Sorry its dark.

It's always good when they make a comeback from the dead like that Cool

I'm afraid it's all too common for cars like that to be taken off the road with all good intentions for a restoration job & then months/years later ending up going to the scrap yard as it's too much trouble to finish, or interest is lost - seen it happen....(you know who you are) Tongue Tongue Tongue Grin

Very well done for doing a good job & getting it restored & up & running & looking good once again Cool

Not too bad.

Took me longer to find the panel then to weld it.

I think i found the right one from Star Panels in tinternet! Phoned them up and described it. Spoke to a fab lady who sorted it.
The tricky bit is not to get too hot and warp the panel your welding too.

I also bought another arch as the panel needs the arch to welded to it. I cut the dog leg off the front of the arch and used the rest
to rebuild it.

The chassis legs under the bonnet are a pain. Needed to take loads out to get to them but its all done now.

The sils are just sils...but I have had enough of welding for a while.

Brilliant looking car, what is the colour?
Some pictures look red, others look like a very nice burnt orange, don't usually like orange cars but if this one is then it looks absolutely fantastic...

(Actually it looks fantastic whatever colour it is...) Wink
