Sorry to drag this thread down to a serious level for a moment (honest) Shocked Tongue Grin

I wish folk wouldn't post pictures with huge file sizes Huh

I try (in most cases) to use the smallest file size possible when posting pictures on the internet - & especially on this forum, as it's slow enough already & doesn't need great big high quality pictures to bring it to a virtual standstill Angry

Virtually all my pictures are taken at the lowest resolution that I can get away with (you probably won't notice this on a standard PC monitor unless you try to enlarge them, then you'll find that they start to quickly 'pixelate' Cheesy

In fact, some of the pictures I have posted on here in the past were taken on one of those early first generation digital cameras that record directly onto a full size 1.4 meg floppy - 'old-skool' Tongue Grin

Not only that, but I used it on the setting where it takes 32 photos on one 1.44 meg floppy disc - so work out what the file size of each picture will be at that rate Shocked

You'll see an example of the pictures that came off that old camera on the 'how-to fuel tank thread & the 'West Ashby' thread from a couple of years ago.

Even on a modern camera, unless it's something very special, I take everything at no more than 1.3 M/pix setting. All my pictures posted on hear now are taken at that setting - yes, you can tell if you look closely, but they're good enough for an internet forum & they DON'T take up acres of space & clog everything up - IMHO Wink

The ones that I may have posted that are larger will be either ones that have not been taken by me or ones that I took at a higher setting for some other reason.

Earlier this evening, I was looking at a thread on here with some huge great file size photos on it - & quite a few of them at that.....& as the thread 'ground to a halt' I just clicked off it onto somewhere else as it just wasn't worth the trouble of trying to view it Sad

Maybe this is wrong thinking - but it's what I've found Undecided

OK, that's all..........now back to the fun........SHAZ - c'mon, go for it gal Kiss

Well not being computer literate, I don't have much idea what you are going on about !!! Embarrassed Shocked
However, I've found that it takes forever if folk put up big BLOCKS of pics, instead of posting two or three times, thus breaking them down.Takes forever when trying to read replies as it tries to put up the full section of of pics first ! Angry
Hers another few for you to look at  Cheesy Grin Kiss

sure a few of you out there can relate to this Grin

Might use this as my new avatar !!!!!

I don't have a clue either!!!!

I know that some forums automatically resize pix to suit their requirements, but wouldn't know where to start myself. Embarrassed

Nah..........even bigger!!! MeggaBits Shocked So it must be bigger if it's MEGGA Grin Grin Grin

The funny thing about the floppy is that it's only floppy on the inside - The outside casing is quite 'hard' - In fact, it has to be really stiff on the outside as it wouldent be able to be pushed into the slot, or be able to open the flap as it goes in..........if you know what I mean Wink Tongue
