Sorry to drag this thread down to a serious level for a moment (honest)

I wish folk wouldn't post pictures with huge file sizes

I try (in most cases) to use the smallest file size possible when posting pictures on the internet - & especially on this forum, as it's slow enough already & doesn't need great big high quality pictures to bring it to a virtual standstill

Virtually all my pictures are taken at the lowest resolution that I can get away with (you probably won't notice this on a standard PC monitor unless you try to enlarge them, then you'll find that they start to quickly 'pixelate'

In fact, some of the pictures I have posted on here in the past were taken on one of those early first generation digital cameras that record directly onto a full size 1.4 meg floppy - 'old-skool'

Not only that, but I used it on the setting where it takes 32 photos on one 1.44 meg floppy disc - so work out what the file size of each picture will be at that rate

You'll see an example of the pictures that came off that old camera on the 'how-to fuel tank thread & the 'West Ashby' thread from a couple of years ago.
Even on a modern camera, unless it's something very special, I take everything at no more than 1.3 M/pix setting. All my pictures posted on hear now are taken at that setting - yes, you can tell if you look closely, but they're good enough for an internet forum & they DON'T take up acres of space & clog everything up - IMHO

The ones that I may have posted that are larger will be either ones that have not been taken by me or ones that I took at a higher setting for some other reason.
Earlier this evening, I was looking at a thread on here with some huge great file size photos on it - & quite a few of them at that.....& as the thread 'ground to a halt' I just clicked off it onto somewhere else as it just wasn't worth the trouble of trying to view it

Maybe this is wrong thinking - but it's what I've found

OK, that's all..........now back to the fun........SHAZ - c'mon, go for it gal
