I've just had a phone call from 'Chelle, and it is with much regret that I have to announce that John passed away at 10 o'clock last night.
To say I'm shocked and upset is the understatement of the year.
My thoughts go out to you 'Chelle.

Rest in peace John, my good old mate.
The forum won't be the same without you.

Sorry, not thinking straight at the moment.
I have all the funeral arrangements here, so if anyone would like to attend, please let me know and I'll pass it on to 'Chelle.

I am really, really really sad to hear the news. John was a true gent, and kept my spirits up at a time of my loss. His wit and and ability was always great, and the input that was put into the site by him was fantastic. A rare person indeed. A one off.

My heart goes out to  all the family.

All our thoughts and respect's.

If any member is attending the service, please advise, as I would like them to pass my condolences on.

Sad News.
I never met John except through his postings but seemed a real stand up guy.
His contributions on this site will be missed as will his wit and banter.
My condolences to his Family and Friends.

Shocking news Shocked

I'm really sorry to hear that, and would gladly put my short arm into my long pocket (joke about Yorkies, apparently - I'm sure John would find it an musing!), to contribute to a floral tribute from TC.

I never met him, but we had some laffs and  exchanged info on here, and some bits of his wisdom I'll remember for a long time.

R.I.P. Mr. Git - gone but sincerely not forgotten!

I'm going to do my best to be at the funeral.
I'll see what I can do about a floral tribute from TC.

I'm going to miss the old bugger. We were always exchanging pm's.
He'd just get bored with not being able to do anything at home, so he'd either pm or ring me just to see how I was.
I last saw him a couple of weeks ago. Karen and myself paid him a visit. He was in a wheelchair, but still joking.
Great bloke.

john will be sadly missed im not sure if i met him at any of the meetings that we had or whether he was at whippets when i collected the senator .

I dont like hearing of kindred folk passing away and depite not knowing him well i felt very cold while reading the thread , my thoughts are with his family and his dear wife . Its such a pity we all dont live alot closer , a convoy of carltons would have pleased him so much and to know he had such a following of friends .

RIP you old git and enjoy the land of endless lotus carltons and we will all have a meeting up there one day lol .

Please let us know if there is going to be a collection for his widow or for any charity that john supported .  Cry Cry
