Truly awesome project there man, nice bit of thinking too! Thats gonna be a bit of a sleeper! Leaving 2.0 16v badges on the back? How'd you get the idea for that!?!!?!? And which LC died to give up the running gear? Guessing it wasnt tooo hard to fit as the Omega isnt that far removed from a carlton LOL

Yeah, I was only just beaten by a saxo the other day then I realised that not only did he have go faster stripes on full boost, but it seemed like he has a mega turbo under his bonnet as it was wooshing like crazy every gear change... Plus I was still running on gas and hadn't changed temporarily to petrol like I normally do....... And my car is about twice as heavy as his.... Am I covering myself well here? Oh the embarrasment!

I realise its not a Carlton but the main part is!!!! Just my perverse thoughts, Graham, but the floorpan and in fact most, of the monocoque is Carlton, too! So I reckon it's the very rare (probably the only) Carlton Mk4 Quickshed Limited Edition. Has anyone seen the pix of the mad German (I think) Calibra body on an Ello? Mad as a fish!

Just been looking at the pix - It looks really great I don't know why it made me smile when I see the 'Halfords' name as bold as brass on the battery right next to the 'Lotus' name on the top cover

Thats true Pete!!!! it is!!!! Only problem is it has lots of factory cut out bits to form crumple zones!!!!! so going to spend the winter welding them all up as i dont want it to fold up or something the first time i belt it round a track!!!!
