Can someone give me a link or tell me the part codes for the instrument panel lights - the small ones which only have 12/1.2 on the back and the bigger ones behind the dials.

The dash illumination bulbs are 501 Capless Wedge type
I dont know what code the smaller ones are but LED replacements can be found on Ebay.

The 12/1.2 (12V 1.2W)  is Vx PN 91145668.
The others should be 12V 2W and are code 90276667

The Cigarette lighter bulb. the trip computer bulb, and heater control are 12/1.2 PN 91145668
Ashtray bulb PN 90002519

Think thats all

The 12V 1.2W come in packs of 10

Brilliant.

Thanks chaps.

Yes, I was thinking of getting some leds, possibly blue, instead of ordinary bulbs for the dials at least.  I've seen them discussed a bit on the forum and the various issues such as the amount of light given out sideways.

I'll have a look around.

these are the ones ive used in my clock, lighter and ashtray, depending on wether its a comp or analogue time clock alters the fitting.
i had to slightly adjust the length of the blue plastic and wires to make them fit lighter and ashtray better, just cut a couple of mill off.
there are a few of us with blue dash lights now, myself i think essex dippy and a couple of others, have a look at my pics (estate ones). see what you think Wink

Cheers guys.

So I need blue leds for the dials. Can you put a blue one behing the tripcomp? It would look much better than it does now with the piss colour light.

What colour have you guys gone for in the ash tray?

Am I right in thinking I will need white leds for the row along the bottom of the instrument panel - indicators, brake, fuel etc...

blues for trip comp but for best fitting needs soldering to the board, and ashtray straight swap, if you read a couple of boxes up you can see what i wrote  Wink

its not hard honest, chrismec sorted it and i just copied.
four screws, and then a little gentle persuasion but be careful,
bulbs are+ & - , trial before soldering .like i said ashtray and lighter are easy peasy lol
Hardest one is the hazard , putting it back together is the pain but a little patience and tlc will sort it  Wink

Got my leds through the other day.

Fitted ash tray, beam adjust control, heater controls, dials and head lamp switch which is a bit tricky and I somehow lost a contactor out of it  Angry It was there when I assembled it. Must have fallen out at some point.  I'm getting round doing the trip computer soon as I have chance.

I didn't get any white 286 leds for the warning lights along the bottom of the dials and I noticed that the bulb holders aren't ideal for the leds. Do I needs some of these :  http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/286t-part-only-included-p-852.html

I have most of them fitted now and it's looking good!

One strange problem is the ash tray and heater control bulb are not working. They are definitely the right polarity as they worked when i installed them so there was definitely voltage to the contacts.

These didn't work on the original bulbs but I them going when I installed them. When do these come on. With the headlights or when you open the doors?

I was looking to replace my led to red, just to be different! what a the best ones for the switches ? and also the led which denotes when the switch is switch on

many thanks

Is 5000mcd sufficient to illuminate, the switches nicely without causing to much glare?

in addition, will 5mm be ok ?

and will 3mm fit the headlamp switch i assume that would be smaller ?

Cheers

5000mcd is fine although anyone sitting in the middle of the back seat wont like them!
5mm LED's are fine for both night illumination (slight mod to switch needed) and power on indication. Will also fit into the headlight switch.

Just a little.. but a bit of roughing up with some wet'n'dry will dull them a bit!
