I went looking for a new door for my CDX and in the first breakers i visit, straight away i saw a Carlton sat ontop of a volvo 440 with a good door and it's even in the same colour as mine!

Getting it off was the only problem as the hinge pins do not want to budge. The guy in the breakers said i need a special tool

What's the best method for removing the pins without the tool?

Front door - First soak in WD40 then get some molegrips on the pin and tap the molegrips with a hammer to remove the pin.

Rear door - Angle grinder!

Me too!

Of course on your car you would cut the door side - once the door is off you will have enough space to get the pins out, remove the remaining pieces of hinge, and fit the new door.

Well I ended up paying for the breakers to remove it so that's one problem solved.

Chris: What's the tool called so I can search for it?

Thanks for the help.

I got the tool which will take the pins out.

I'm just considering how i'm going to swap the winding gear and window over. It looks straight forward, is there anything I need to watch out for? I'm a bit unsure how to get the window out of the clamp though.
