After starting the car..and all bulbs on the dash go out..except for the 'bulb out' light.....when I press the brake it still stays on...Ive checked all the bulbs and the only ones that dont come on are the brake lights........the main problem is this tho........when I put the car in cruise control and apply the brake to disengage the cruise....the cruise control stays on and the car still wants to rev up under braking....eventually the problem clears itself and the light goes out and the brake lights work again
    Puzzled?Huh??
      Thanks Kev
BTW...car is Carlton 3.0L Diamond Estate Auto

Yup, I would second and third that diagnosis, had a couple of dodgy ones in my time as well, with weird results.
20 minute job as long as you don't mind lying on your back with your arms contorted around your ears...
30 minutes if you do... Cheesy

Only thing common to both brake light and CC circuits is the brake light switch on the to of the brake pedal - gotta be that, or my name's Wendy! Shocked

There is always a last resort.

Involves a hammer and lots of swaering and cursing
