I have a prob with my ABS...On the initial check the light goes out when you start the engine but comes back on when the system does the second check on the wheel sensors..Passed it's mot yesterday cause the tester didn't drive it but would still like to sort it...Has anyone else had a sensor go down & whats the best way to identify what sensor it might be....I've jacked the back end up & span the wheels in top gear & the light didn't come on but not sure if the light would come on anyway as all wheels were not spinning....Would appriciate some advise from anyone who's had to deal with this prob...Got a full car for spares but not sure if the sensors will be any good on that..How can I test them....Cheers in advance...Russ

Unplug each sensor and check the resistance with an ohm meter. You require a value of around 16 ohms

It could be that my Avometer has gone a bit faulty, but all the sensors that I've tested have been between 1,000 & 1,500 ohms. I'll have to check my spare sensors over the weekend just to confirm.

If it's a rear one, it won't come out of the mounting bracket in one piece - best remove the two bolts & swap the complete unit..........the front ones can be a sod to get out in one piece sometimes too!!
