Hi All,
My ABS light started coming on sometime ago, just randomly at first, now its staying on all the time Sad
and the MOT is due in 5 weeks. Is there any kind soul, that i could possiby borrow from the 3 relays that make up the ABS curcuit.
I need to eliminate the relays first before i come to the brake sensors,as these are the easiest to fix for me.
I will of course pay the postage both ways and return them by post the next day,or i will buy them off you now.
The surge arresters part No. is GM 90 275 794.Return pump No. 332 002 174 and the solenoid valve No. 332 204 153. The car is a 2.0l carlton cdx auto and its a j reg plate.

                                                                                                                                   All the best terry

Same problem, dirty wheel sensors. Over a period of time brake dust and dirt accumulate causing the light to come on. The backs are easy to remove and clean, just remove two diff bolts. If spacers are fitted replace as you found. The fronts are buggers to remove. A good soak with plus gas then ease back and fourth until free. Once out clean assemble with a good dollop of copper grease. Make the removal of sensors part of a brake inspection / service remove clean and a dollop of grease. The twats wont seize in place ever again Wink

That cured my light on problem Wink

Hi GMC
Thanks for the reply and info. The trouble is i'm disabled,so trying the relays first 'cause i can manage those, anything that requires getting down and dirty is a no go for me unfortunetly Sad  I done a search on here(ABS light) and a number of members have had trouble with these relays breaking down,so i thought this would be the one fix i could do.

Back to the relays, anyone got any that i can buy or try?

                                                                                                                    Cheers terry

Ok Tel,
Hope the relays do the trick. If not disconnect the battery for a few minutes then reconnect. Start the car and see if the ABS light goes out? Also disconnect the battery before you install the new relays, this will clear the memory of stored fault codes if any.

My light used to go out after starting the engine then come on when the car reached 10mph. Your problems not the same as you state the light is permanently on?

Try tapping the top of the relays (with the engine running) - the light on mine comes on every now and again but goes off if you tap the relays.
