say for example if you had a sri130 head lying around in the garage
and you were planning to rebuild your engine
would the sri head fit?

The 2.0 in the Carlton was (and this is a rough guide...)
20SE (122bhp) in the prefacelift
20NE (115bhp) in the facelift
The highest power from Vauxhall 8v (excluding any wierd ones) was
20SEH (130BHP) in the Cav SRis
The difference between SEH and NE is.... Cam, Pistons, Management
Apparently if you change the two easy ones (Cam, Management) you take the power to around 20SE levels.
Best off finding a complete 20SEH from a Cavalier Sri 8v and swapping it over. They go for buttons these days. hell I sold a sound one with FWD box for £30!
BTW, if you do want to swap the management I have been told that the Mk2 Cavalier SRis use a different loom plug to the ECU (and possibly different management... not sure) compared to the later Mk3 Cavaliers and the NE used in the Carlton.

Also for 2.0 8v engine tuning check out
http://www.tomstickland.co.uk
Good reading
(its for an SER engine, which is virtually the same as the SEH IIRC)
