right is your fuel pump working but no fuel getting to the engine??

there are 3 main things to check
make sure the fuel isnt p*ssing out all over the floor due to rubber pipes perishing, and everything is in good conditon(no corrsion/kinks)

if the problem isnt there, check the fuel filter, this is located at the front of the fuel tank will be a silver(probley oily black now) cylinder, easy way to check is to remove it and see if you can blow through it.

still no luck?

THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM
right 5 carltons i have known to do this, gaz will back me up,the internal fuel pump is held in by 12 or so 8 mm bolts, remove all of these and withdraw the pump from the tank,99.9% of the time the small length of rubber hose has decided to detach itself so the pump isnt picking up .
replace/find it in the tank, and tighting it back up re seal put it back together and have a go.

Just read the thread about fuel (spellt correctly) problems. I had a very major problem at a track once. After leaving the car to warm-up, I came back to find the engine off!!! After plugging in all the Tech equipment, could not find the error! Then a friend tried the fuel pressure, by taking the cap off the end of the rail, found zero pressure  Huh After decieding to take out the fuel pump (bearing in mind I am doing all of this at a track day at Goodwood, not easy I can tell you) Found that over the years all the sedimant in the tank had blocked the pump. So after some sucking and blowing and reverseing the flow of the pump I got it going with the help of a very many people(whom I never thanked enough!). So I managed to get out on track Grin. BUT Angry I discovered, to my horror that pump needs to go back in a certain way! I found as i went around corners the fuel pick-up was lost.
So when changing or fixing a fuel pump beware of that! Even with this problem I still kicked most peoples arse!!!!! Great day in the end though!! Grin

Ive had alot of probs with fuel pumps... Im replacing at least 1 a week at work in GSIs...

One particular car G106REG (red 24v) It got a pump a week for 4 weeks... then discovered the fuel pressure reg was blocked and pump was runniung 5 Bar all the time...
So new reg and it was sorted...

Have also seen pumps that seem to be working fine But when u test the pressure they running at less than 1 bar... must just be rid out!!

also from my experience abiet limited, most vauxhalls have fuel pump relay which pressurises the system when you turn the key, these fail, you can bridge the two main wires to energise the pump, need circuit tester though! have have over 30 bloomin vauxhalls and still cant remember which pins do what! or can pull cover off relay and shove contact together.......
