Let us know if you get a helpful answer in easy to understand terms?

Probably a few on here who may have considered this mod then written it off as undoable (which it might be for the average Joe), so would be interesting to find out what you hear.  Wink

hi i have been told that it doesent matter what carlton you have got the lcd dash is easy todo u just wire the wires from your calton to the lcd dash u will need a wiring diagram from the haynes manual and the gear box transducer works with any carlton just screw it into your gear box doesent matter if its auto or manual and conect the wires togeter to the dash its easy and the rev counter i have been told like the speedo are all the same it goes of pulces and the 4 pot gives off the same pulces as the 6 pot hope that helps mate mine is all working apart from the speedo as i havent got the transducer yet cheers craig

Problem lies in that the chip in the dash will count the pulses from the coil and count every sixth pulse as one engine revolution as it is from a six cylinder car.

Apply this principle to a four-pot and it will count every 1 1/2 revolutions as one and screw up the reading.  Embarrassed

YEP no problem there but you will have a little red F appear as the dash doesnet get the signal from the auto box!!! however if you take the dash apart the auto dash will drive the manual board

i have a 91h gsi 3000 andwas wondering if any one could help? the prob is the dash keeps going out until the car is warmed up inside, or the outside temp is above about 15c it flashes on and off and is really starting to p me off ! Ive put in a 2nd hand auto one but that does exactly the same thing!. Cry could it be anything to do with a loose main earth ? or just one from the dash ? any help would be much appreciated. and how easy is it to take out the rear window motor r/n/s as this has gone too?

My Senator one used to do this until it got warmed up. Thumping the dash usually helped until I replaced it with a repaired one.

If you open it up, (a bitch of a job in itself 'cos it's fitted with anti-tamper screws!!), you'll find dry joint(s) which will need the attention of a soldering iron and fresh solder.
