You've obviously been going the extra mile with this. Hats off - nice car in *almost* standard trim.

With regards to speakers, the standard Carlton one's are statring to get on in years and was wondering if any other quality cars over the 10 year bracket that are scrap yards, that may have higher quality speakers that may fit with out any mods at all?

Could try some from an Omega /vectra/new astra ? or you can get some cheap alpines/pioneer for £20-£30

I have JBLs all round and they sound great.
With respect, standard VX speakers have always been pretty good sound, volume and bass wise, however the cones are still made of fibre so they aren't that great.
A small tip here - you'll need to get speaker adapters for the front doors. Vectra ones fit perfectly.
