Last time I broke a timing belt, the engine spun around without any problems (C20NE aswell) That makes me think it's something else, are you sure the crank can get "stopped" like this if the belt goes?

When I toed it, I tryed to "roll start it" with second gear in, that resultet in that the rear wheels locked up...

Jerry, Right you are!! Wink

As have I! But what troubles me is that the crank is unturnable after those 45 degres! As I said, I tried to toe it to start and both rear wheels locked... Sad The same 45 degres that I can turn the crank makes me very confused! Seems lika a whole new type of a blown eninge :S

I'm heading out now to see if I can find anything wrong anyways! I hope it's just the timing belt, I really do Wink

Well well well... The head on this engine has been rebuilt by a mechanic a couple of years ago. If you asked me he should think about changing career!

Anyways. The answear to the ten penny question, What wrong with my engine? IS! - There's an inlet valve in one of the cylinders, and parts from the guide in all four....

Lucky I have another head to put on Wink

yes you were Smiley

But what bugs me is that it came to a halt in both directions, 45 degres isn't much! I'll have to give it real check before I bolt it up again Smiley But hopefully, it'll be up'n running soon again Wink

It's been a while! Smiley

The "new" head I had lying around was a well used item Wink About 370k kilometers! But the engine it was on worked supremly before i tore the head off and sent the rest to the junkyard!

I gave it a couple of hours with the grinder before I bolted it back to the engine aswell. Not that much porting thou just shaped up the ports and matched them to the exhaust and intake. The main grinding was made in the combustion chamber, lowered the comp to about 8.8, always something right? Smiley

here's a pic:

"grinded" (right expression?) in the valves aswell and found a cam that looked better then bolted everything up again!

Try to start it just to find that some jerk has emtyd my tank for about 15l of E85... get some fuel and then the battery dies! Charge it a bit, it starts and runs like crazy at only 0.3bars of boost! Paint a couple of rings on second gear and fell that third prob would go aswell Wink Take it for a spin and park it to run by the store, get back and it dead again! Call a freind and we get it running with a couple of cables. Pull out of the parking lot a let it rev to about 3500, the pipe from the IC to the intake pops off resulting in a hault. Try to start, nothing! rig the cables again, NOTHING! Toe it back to my parking lot and place the battery in the charger, go home and to bed!

Next day it starts perfectly a couple of times so I get around to some adjustments when I hear a "pop" and see something pooring out on the ground, throw myself in the car and kill the engine! It shows that it's the oilcooler hosing that's poped off.. get some new oil, bolt it up properly then get a text!

"Hi! Is it you that have that white carlton estate that runs like hell? Willing to sell it?" So I sold it for the exact amount I've spent on it! Including car, parts and all. The guy who bought it calls a copule of days later to ask me how to get the boost up, so I tell him to pull the wg hose and adjust the wg arm to the shortest, that I belive will give about a kilo in boost!

He calls back maybe an hour later. Apperantly it gives a bit more... Smiley Up to 1 bar it's quite slow, then it just "explodes" pushing the boost to 1.5 and spins the tires on third! :S

If I would just have been a bit more patient... Smiley Althou it did push quite a lot of gas throu the "crankhouse ventilation?" in to the oilcatch... about half a litre on 10km of calm citydriving so I would prob just have gotten a total engine failure in the end anyway Smiley
