Thought I'd post some pics of my soon to be finished Omega or Carlton as it's cald in England.

It started with an old child family car that had corroded quite a bit.. but soon it looked like this:

- Images removed due to broken links -

After a whole lot of work it started to take shape Wink

- Images removed due to broken links -

And after one summers work: (these are bigger so I'll just post links)

- Images removed due to broken links -

Looking like that it took lets say two days before i HAD to rebuild the rear bumper to get better lines towards the sideskirts and start to sketch on a new, more agressive frontbumper!

Said and done:

- Images removed due to broken links -

The rear bits weren't finished here and I had to rip the bumper apart and take it up a notch couse it got too low...

A couple of weeks ago though it looked like this:

- Images removed due to broken links -

A bit more done to it:

- Images removed due to broken links -

And the latest pics, taken after tinting a couple of more windows Wink (bad quality)

Also a pic of the engine. Unfortunatly it's a bit small and weak but it good enough for crusing Wink

- Images removed due to broken links -

Last but not least, the specs!

Chassis:
*Sport springs, lower 35mm all around.
*Gas shocks all around.
*Carlton GSi brakes in front.

Exterior:
*Bose hood.
*Home build skirts and bumpers, one of a kind!
*Flatened trunk. (not sure how to put it, but you can se it on the pics Wink)
*Home tinted rearlights.
*17" alloys on 235/40 tires.

Interior:
*Complete GLS interior in gray, the car is originally a GL with the blue/white interior!
*Recarro driver seat, same type as the Carlton GSi front seats but in black.

Audio:
*Bad headunit.
*Infinity Kappa 60.5cs frontsystem, thats 6,5" + 1" speakers.
*Two Infinity Kappa 100.3se subwoofers, thats 10" woofers Wink
*GAS Silver C2001 amplifier putting out 600wRMS!

Engine:
*C20NE, new sensors everywere! (had a problem with petrol consumption)
*2" exhaust system from the cat and back with a 2.5" muffler at the end. <- Great sound! Sounds like it's putting out twice the original power!
*Open airfilter.

So, what do you think of my little beast? The bumpers are almost ready for paint so soon it will be done and when it is, I'll sell it and buy a GSi 24v to tune this winter Cheesy

Well if you like you can buy it Smiley I don't know the costs of importing it to England but it's not impossible Wink I'm only selling it to fund my upcoming GSi that will (if I get my willings throu) be an E46 M3 killer! Cheesy Pushing towards 300bhp and lightened to about 1400kg Wink

Looks great! Wink Wink Wink

Just curious - but why is the leading edge of the bonnet a different shape to the Carltons in this country. Is it a Swedish thing. Huh

Not really I mean the curved sections of the bonnet above each headlamp are different. Have you changed the bonnet shape?

See pic.

Ah, great to find you here.
Nice car! I've got the same bumpers, how exactly did you modify the front one? didi you get another one, and blended the two together, or did you fully fibreglass rebuild the old one?

The old one, that's white, looks the same today. I cut out the ribs and modded in a couple of aluminium plates. Not recomended though since it cracked, got heavy and didn't look too good.. The new one was another bumper completly, here's some pics from the building period:

- Images removed due to broken links -

Budgie: Like UrbannDisaplin said, I have extended the hood so i looks like that to get the "integrated eyelid" look, that's what called "Bose" Smiley

Just remeber that it will cost alot to get it imported to England! Maybe £7-750, + it has the steering wheel on the left side Wink But I'm asking £1850 which in my country is about 25 000 crowns.. Hope I'll get it too since car is in such a good condition!

Well I asked the same questions that I have asked in the oily bits section here and got a tip to visit this page since most of the Carlton owners that know atleast a little more then the basics about that engine was here! Dont know who it was that tipped me though...

Don't you have "check up's" every year so that the cars not suited for the roads legally can't be driven? Don't know what else to call it Smiley The expensive thing isn't to get it over to England, it getting it road legal Wink

Pulling up an old dusty project here on Total Carlton Wink

about 3 years ago, I actually sold this car! Got Good money for it to! but this summer, the urge for something with rear wheel drive took over me since my -76 Kadett wasn't even near to be ready for the roads! I heard a rumour that my old car was for sale! So i started digging and found out it had mostly been standing still since I sold it, only about 5000km more on the car! So I asked the owner for a price and nearly fell of the chair when he said 500sek, thats about 40 quid!

So I bought back the car, and then I found a newly rebuilt -93 c20ne for about 40 quid aswell plus a complete turbokit, except for the turbo for about 50 quid! That kit has done 9.84 on 1/8 mile in a stock carlton on shitty tires with full interior and a welded rear axle, a friend of mine who has a Carlton GSi 24v with cams, exhaust, chip and filter + slightly lightened (no backseat and "sound damping carpets", don know what to call it...) and some rally slicks in the rear did at the same track 9.86 and he is a pretty good driver!

very well, today the car looks like this:

And the new engine:

It should give me about 200-220 something at 1bar. Can't wait to get this puppet running Smiley

welcome back Smiley

Looks like the cars been pretty neglected by the previous owner :-(

Liking the sounds of the plans though!

FYI.... apparently standard NE rods are only good for 250bhp or so, so just be careful with the ol' boost there! Smiley

Still, should be a beast.
