Hi all,   Got a couple of questions about the digi dash but before i start i no what people think of these and i no that i am new on here but i am not that way inclined So please no name calling.  First of all i own a 24v diamond (auto) i also have a 24v Senator CD (auto) with the digi dash as standard and all working fine at the moment.  The Senator is about to be scrapped as it has done a head gasket and the dual ram has packed up and there are dents on every panel and the arches are gone.  Will be selling the black leather interior though so if anyones intrested anyway i have stripped the dashboard out and was wondering what parts i would need from the Senator so that if i wanted to fit the digi dash in the diamond i would have every thing to hand.  I am not sure if this has been covered in detail before i did have a look at the past posts but could not find much.  I am not to much of a mechanic but i do like to have a go at things so if someone knows what bits i need and were to find them on the car and also i how 2 i would be most appreciative.  Many thanks Mark

Hi and welcome I have taking on the same task myself,You will need a very good understanding of car wiring to do this but it can be done, the parts you need are 1 the digi dash 2 the wiring plugs for the back of the dash, cut them out off the old loom as far down as you can leaving them as long as possible, and the last bit is the oil sender unit, you will find it on the engine on the left hand side at the front right down at the bottom.

One thing i found helpfull was to copy the wiring diagram and blow it up to A3 size paper.

A word off warning though the digi dash is very sensitive and a wire in the wrong place could end it.

I have had my one working so it can be done.

Thanks Mapblue,  Good to hear from someone who has done this after reading the old post's was not sure.... Sorry for being thick When you say cut the plugs of as far down as possible i take it that you mean inside the car (and not in the engine bay) as i was trying to trace were they went through the bulk head into the engine bay.  But as you know there are a lot of wires in the loom which they are wrapped up with so was quite hard to see.  Where did you get the wiring diagram from to blow up to A3 size? sounds like you really need it. Any other help you can give would be great.  Thanks Mark

I cut my plugs off where they joined in to the main part of the loom in the back off the dash, the wiring diagram came out of the Haynes manual.

I don't know if that's as easy as that - TBH, I'm not 100% sure, but I think someone like Mr. Chaz might be able to enlighten you.

It's been covered on ABS a bit, and to convert to digi from anal has always sounded pretty frightening!

UNLESS you go the whole hog and replace the dash/engine wiring harnesses for the digital ones.

Thanks guys for the response was hoping that it would not be to difficult as i had the donor vehicle to scavenge for parts but sounds like that it is a bit more than that and i don't have much time to get stuck in as the car is being taken away on Wednesday oh well  Thanks everyone
