Here we go then, hope moderators don't decide to terminate my membership! For me this the natural progression from the Senator. whilst I rate the Omega as an excellent comfortable and competent car, I have never been drawn to them in the same way as the old Senator & Carlton, I have had two Omega Elite estates now, both excellent cars but this time I thought I would go for something a bit different - now in that fingers crossed period that it is all alright!!

Sorry for any offence caused - and if its any consolation the Carltons and Senator aren't going anywhere for the time being Wink

But just so she didn't feel left out I gave her a wash! sorry for pic quality it was getting dark!

What else can you buy to replace a Senator

Audi A8 - lacks character want 4WD buy a land rover
Lexus LS400/430 - unreliable (I kid you not Shocked)
Merc S430 (Got in one - got out 5 secs later - not for me)
Jaguar XJR (Cramped cabin and no boot space)
VW Phaeton (Nice but too new and too many pennies)

Doesn't leave much does it Wink

When it's time to trade in our Meega, I'm gonna look at a Suzuki Grand Vitara, Mercedes or Volvo estate of some sort or (wait or it)..........Vectra C estate or Signum.

Won't be getting rid of The Louts - ever! Wink

Erm, I bought a J plate 316 SE with bent valves, but when towing it to the garage to have a new engine fitted on my father-in-laws company van..................BMW went on fire. Wiped out the lot!

Police un happy, father-in-law unhappy, his boss even less so!!!!!!!!! Lost all company tools and did not have permission to use the van.

Put me off BMW's (now means Burnt My Wallet with all the costs involved)

Capri I take it? I always fancied a 2.8i. in fact came close to buying one when I was 18 but was talked out of it by my Dad (good job really) and then when I was just 21 I bought my first senator a 2.6CD  - loved that car

Still wouldn't mind a Capri but don't see it ever happening now

My GSi was retired from daily use in September and replaced with...

E39 540 4.4L V8 - probably same engine as BCs 740, and I used the same rationale when deciding what to buy.
