Not sure whether this should be in here or in "how to" but if anyone has a Grundig 4870 with dodgy buttons on the removeable display panel, this is almost certainly due to a faulty conductive pad behind the button, there is a very thin section on them which tears.
These pads are tiny rubber nipples behind each button, replacements are available from a company called CPC ( part no. GR18030-030-00 ) at £1.20 each.
You will need a very tiny crosshead screwdriver and the expertise to work with small mechanisms ; take care with the display bulbs when re-assembling !
So anyone with ruptured nipples now knows the cure !!

No m8, your ok. Sure everyone will see this when they read the unread posts. And if it needs to be moved then im sure one of the main guys will do it.

But thanks for the info. Wink Smiley

I have a Grundig 4870 head unit in the 12v Senator that i got the other week for spares.  Haven't got the 10-disc changer but everything else is there.  Head unit works ok but LCD display is a little blurred in places.  Yours if you want it??

Well, now i'm in a difficult situation.  By complete coincidence an ABS member has offered me a 10-disc changer for £20.  Bearing in mind that it's the only bit that's missing from my setup then i think i'm going to take him up on his offer & trnsplant the whole lot into my 24v.  Really sorry if i got your hopes up, i wouldn't have posted the last post had i known someone would offer me one that cheap, i've seen how much they go for on ebay!!!!

Hope you understand!!
