Going to install a new head unit in my car, and replace the standard speakers.
The cables going to the rear look well solid, it is ok to use those for compo's?
and the front uses a capacitator for a crossover, I doubt I want tweeters in front, so am just going for a decent all-round speaker in the front doors.

Opinions please?

thx!

Unless your gona sound proof the full car I doubt you will gain anything from oxygen free 200 strand cable.

It all depends on how far your gona take your system.

no tweeters up front??
When you go to a concert do you stand with you back to the band??

No so why have all the music coming from the rear of the car,of course you need tweeters up front.

Keep the tweeters, they do make a difference, for best performance from tweeters you should be able to see them, having 2 or 3 way speakers in the door you will loose  some of the high frequencies.

KEEP the tweeters ( or upgrade them ) 2 ways in the doors will just bring the sound down so sounds like the singer is coming from your feet   you want the sound crisp & up infront of you

I've fitted some JBLs in the front doors with tweeters in the dash, keeping the standard wiring. Much better!!!

Would using the crossovers make any noticable difference?

I'll be fitting JBLs in the rear shelf, an amp and modest bass box in the boot soon.

Put a bass box in ya boot running off an amp and keep speakers running just from your head unit but with no bass. Trust me, it will sound pretty damn good!!

Mine consists of
Sony Xplod 50watt x4 H/unit with 6 disc mp3 changer in boot
2x 300 subs running off a sony xm 440 amp (2 channel)
All standard interior speakers (including tweeters) running straight from H/unit with bass turned off to them.

Sound crisp and cool Grin Grin
