Not so simple, the clutch on the astra is hinged off the steering column crossmember
so to get at it you need to remove the footwell panels and the air distribution duct.
Then its likely that the master cylinder push rod is what is squeaking so probably wont do too much good anyhow.
Theres also a clutch select switch that tells the engine management you are pressing the clutch, might not like all that WD40.

Or you could just get the can, shove it behind the panel through the hole the pedal goes into, squirt like mad and hope for the best  Wink

no just the under dash trim (need to turn the buttons a quarter turn and you may need a screwdriver for this)

look up under the dash and you should see the pivot point give her a good lube up and all should be good!!

Its not actually numbered, your is diagram II (RHD),
It pivots around the pin which is the centre one near to where the No. 1 is

Can't be arsed to read the whole thread, but it's a very common vX problem.

Get some white grease or better still, a graphite-based grease (motorbike chain grease is good), and that should work fine if you slap it on the pivot.

(motorbike chain grease is good), didnt know you could still get that. thought all chains were now sealed for life. Gone are the days of boiling up the grease on the kitchen stove and dropping the chain in the pot.

Theres a technical service buliten for this on the fwd cars but can't find the copy i had to check if the rwd's are the same,Basicly it tells you to grease where the cable hooks/joints the pedal with a type of silicone grease.
