Hi Paul691

firiring order is:

1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4. (no. 1 at the front of engine, nearest when standing in front of the car).

Trust this assists.

Hi Paul,

Plugs in engine go from 1 to 6...with 1 being at the front of the engine

Stand at the passenger front wing and look at the dizzy in front of you....

Forget coil lead for now....

number 1 is at approx 5 o'clock position(short HT lead) connect to first plug at front of engine

back to cap, going in a clockwise direction, the next lead is no.5(long-ish lead) connect to the 5th plug on the engine..

next at cap is no.3 (medium lead) connect to the 3rd plug on engine,

next no.6 (longest lead) and goes to last plug at the bulkhead, should be directly opposite from no.1 at 11 o'clock position on the cap

next is no.2(short lead) and goes to 2nd plug

next no.4 to the remaining plug

then connect your coil lead to middle!

1-5-3-6-2-4 in a clockwise direction

does this help?

Good information but slightly flawed as a cover all post

Timing on the majority of 12V's is from cyl No'1 on TDC compression stroke however some 12V's were timed up on No'6 TDC compression stroke!!!!

Most of the Monza's i had to start with all fired with no.1 at 11 o'clock position.....and the last 2 or 3 have all fired from the other way with no.1 at 5 o'clock....hence why i put it that way above^

Paul what ever way yours fires from, if its the wrong way round it just wont fire and do no damage so dont worry!

If you do it as above and it dont go,then start with no.1 HT lead at the 11 o'clock position and follow the same info going clockwise..do it in the same order...1-5-3-6-2-4 on the cap and it will sort itself to fire correctly
