i understand what you are saying but i dont want stupid power yet and i like manta's! as for stopping a standard XE in a manta a set of vectra 288mm discs and calipers on the front, some braided hoses and some DOT 5.1 fluid should make it stop ok. all this lot can be got for around £60 and a decent suspension kit would be around £300 which i would spend on whatever car i get! i know by the time i have spent around £6-700 doing it all i could buy a more powerful RWD but i also enjoy doing the work on the car myself and learning a bit whilst doing it.

i am not saying that what you are saying is wrong or that i dont agree with you! i just like and wouldn't mind a manta! any vauxhall will bloody rust, and i know is wont be quick but it'll be quick enough for me for now. and i am not the type of twat that is into (I'm hoping to double my current BHP by fitting a set of racing graphics up the side of my Carlton now..........Maybe if i fit a "Jap-stlye" front bumper and a "Ripspeed" tail-pipe trim too i could push these boundaries even further!!!!) and i know that small, cheap modifications will not give me a lot of bhp from an XE and i know to get a lot of power from them you need to spend a lot of money! i dont want a lot of power! if i did i would fit a C20LET and big FMIC, big turbo, chip etc etc or get a different car. just want something to have enough poke to have a bit of fun in! i would also upgrade the brakes and susp before i touch the engine!

i dont want to upset anyone or cause arguments. i am not saying that anything you have said or advised is wrong or that i dont agree! and if i do ever get a manta i will take your advice into concideration.
