i bought this car as a run around. i dont intend to keep it long! i am into my mk2 astra's. i wouldn't mind a GSi 24v one day and also a LOTUS carlton in the future.

here are pics and the spec.

      engine:  C20NE (115bhp).
                  modified airbox.
                  cool running thermostat.

Suspension:  unknown uprated rear shocks (red and very stiff non adjustable) standard springs. i think the
                     fronts are uprated too.

Brakes:   standard discs all round with tempramental ABS!

exterior:   Standard late spec, CDX alloys, mk4 astra clear side repeaters.

     interior:   Standard blue velour.

extras:   Rusty rear arches and a very rusty drivers door!

AHH! I'm sure that I did see it at Billing - sweet looking standard Carlton.  Wink

Once you get your door and arches done, keep it as it is mate - it really is a good'un! Cool Cool

One of the better colours that Carlton's came in too, IMHO!

Always wanted to build a rearwheel drive MK1 or MK2 astra using a dead carlton.

i like the astra better. i love the RWD tho and the carlton is a nice car. would love to make my GTE 16v rear wheel drive! i have allways wanted a manta GTE with an XE in it. need to stick to one project at a time as i have very little money!

Well get a tvr V8 and stuff that in.

Cheeper than a big bucks xe more reliable and will be the same on fuel.

how much would you pay for a tvr V8 lump and all bits needed to do conversion? can pick up an XE for £200ish!

the XE produces 150-156bhp and 144ish lb/ft of torque as standard so i would call that quite torquey! i know as soon as you start tuneing them you dont gain much torque but i just want a standard XE in a manta, it'll be quick enough for now! dont want a real fast road car at the mo!
i think the manta GTE weighs 1100kgs ish, so it would be around 145 bhp/per/ton.

it isn't gonna happen anyway as i have no money and have other projects to finnish first! will change my mind soon i expect. 2 weeks ago i wanted a carlton GSi 24v!

i was offered a half tidy manta with XE fitted, just needed wireing for £500 i think a while back. might of been £800 cant remember now.
