Easy peasy Murph, I was there yesterday.

Head for Glasgow, then get on the M74, turn off Junct 5 and follow the signs.

Asking bigrod and carltonman and SJC on here and on the ABS forum

Just been on ABS and this is the following;

Me (bootie3367)
Stephen (SJC)
Derek
Jim
Matt (matt)

So if we can get some confirmations from on here please.

Details:-

http://www.scotlandsthemepark.com/park/index.php?p=1

At the moment there has not been a time decided, but I would say go for a mid morning meet as after noon the main (big) car park tends to get rather full. Perhaps we should do a poll for a time? I dunno!
Scheduled for Sunday 27th August, in combination with VXon and TC so hopefully we will have a good showing of big Vx.

For those that don't know the location, it's just off the M74, heading South it's Junct 5 and follow the signs, heading North Junct 6 or 5 whichever you fancy. It's all well signposted anyway. If you are in the car park at the back it's about a 4-500 yard walk around to the front for the eateries and drinkeries. I don't think we will get parked at the front near the entrance unless we arrive at 8 in the morning, however I might be wrong and there could be enough space to get at the front. My personal view is that we should go for the big space at the back and then have plenty of room to get parked up next to each other, all nice and cosy like.

Iain, can you see what the Omega boys are doing and maybe cut and paste the above to them so were all singing off the same hymn sheet

Cheers

HI...Ok posted on OOF so will wait and see who comes back on it!?

There was talk of moving to a later date, but i want to keep it to the 27th.... personally!

I would put forward the time of 10:30/11am..then we can have lunch together(i.e BBQ!) and then if its a nice day and good turn out then we can have all afternoon to talk cars!!! and talk cars!!! oh and look at cars!!! Grin

Was thinking this time also to judge how the park carpark will fair......it is at a theme park and it is a weekend day!! bound to get busy!!!...however Bothwell services is 5 mins away, just across the motorway if it gets too busy, with a big carpark and the usual facilities for coffee and toilets etc...!

Was also thinking at that time that if its a poor turn out or a horrible day....you have the time to go on to do something else if you wish!!

Any thoughts??

OK Iain,
From my last visit there, it did get a bit full, but most folks, obviously tried to park as near to the park as possible, I noticed when we left that although it looked really full, there was loads of space at the back. But yes, an alternative is always good, and as t=you say it's only 5 mins away, so a chance for a large Vx convoy, possibly being led by an LC!!! We shall have to see.
Personally for me as well the 27th would be the day, it's the only weekend I'm getting at home this time, than I'm away after that for three weeks, so if it was a later date I would miss it.

Ok still dont know if this is all concrete.... a few of the OOF guys cant make it and want to put back til Sept.....but i said NO! hee hee!!

Na i said that the 27th was going ahead as a few boys from TC were travelling a fair distance so wouldn't be fair to put it back now........

So 27th August at Strathy Park... time still not confirmed but i say 10:30am-ish

I will be there around that time! Grin

Now the other point was..... on OOF i said that there was nothing to stop us having another meet in Sept too....and then i suggested making it a regular thing...which seemed to go down quite well

Been thinking more about it,
and i propose a regular Scottish meet, maybe not every month but say every 2nd month or even quarterly.

Location.....i thought maybe somewhere around the Stirling area...kind of central from Glasgow in the west/Edinburgh in the east and up North....can be for any Opel/Vaux groups TC OOF ABS etc etc

Anyone got any thought on this?? Grin

Sounds loke a fair Idea Iain.  I'd certainly like to be able to attend a meet or three, and this would make it much easier.
