I've been bothered by an engine speed related vibration since I've had my Carlton,a 3lt Diamond 24v Auto. Yesterday I had it on a ramp at a local exhaust specialist and the  Boss there found that he could push the back of the gearbox, and with it the propshaft upwards with no resistance,as if there was no connected gearbox mount.

This hopefully will be the cause of the vibration, although it is definitely engine speed related.

How actually is the gearbox mounting fitted, and are there any bushes etc there ?

I'd like to fix it before Billing as the vibration becomes annoying on a long run.Any help would be appeciated. Jerry

Drives - Carlton CDX 24v

Probably not the same but I bought one of those mounts for a manual 24v the other day, looks easy enough to change from underneath, just 2 plates of metal with rubber holding em together on either end. Cost £17.

I had a similar vibration on my last carlton where the rubber holding the prop shaft centre bearing in its bracket had just worn out and the prop was rattling around inside the round metal bracket - took a while to find it.
