As some of you may or may not know, i recently attended a track day at RAF Marham in Norfolk with my Senator 24v (manual).  I took with me my old Sharp View-cam camcorder & set it up in the back to attempt some "in-car" footage.  It came out quite well, except the footage was all on Hi8 camcorder tape & i needed it in digital format so i could post on the web.

Anyway, thanks to the help of a couple of ABS members, not only did i get the footage onto DVD, i also had it edited & captions etc added.  The results are way better than i was expecting, as you will soon see.

So here it is then, parts one, two & three of "Craig Schofield's School of Track Day Driving"

Part 1 - Click Here

Part 2 - Click Here

Part 3 - Click Here

All comments welcomed & appreciated!!!

Enjoy......

Nice bit of footage, and captions are well thought out.
The tyre is nearly down to the white inner wear indicators,me thinks you can only take another 1.6mm of tread off em and they wont be road legal. Grin Grin

Haven't used the gaerbox yet, waiting till the old one is completely broken.  At the moment it's just weak synchromesh on 4th, & even weaker on 3rd!  Everything else about the box is fine, well except the ratios of coursebut there's not a lot i can do about that!!!

Why oh why didn't Vauxhall put the Getrag 265 in the Senator's & Carltons??!!!!!!

I can set up a guest FTP account that allows you to only upload into a set directory. At least.... you could.... theyve changed my control panel software now so will have to double check.

that 2nd vid is gold, love the way even though he is trying hard to loose the back end... but still managing to keep up with the cars in front.

I noticed you laugh like Ming the Mercyless when you get her to proper step out... exactly like me, just can't help it!

I was surprised myself at how cars with a lot more power than mine were unable to completely lose me.  There was an E36 M3 that would beat me on the straights, but i caught him at every corner.  The main reason for me passing most of the cars i shouldn't have been was probably that my Senator is scruffy, & i wasn't too bothered about hitting a few cones (which i did!), as long as i didn't hit anyone elses car!

Addmitidly i was deliberately trying to provoke oversteer most of the time, but the lairy handling was also due to me bringing Vectra wheels by mistake, with 195's on ET49 offset wheels on the front it was never going to have a lot of grip!!  Next time i go it'll have standard wheels & tyres on it.

The biggest plus for me was that it kept up with every other Carlton/Senator 24v that was there, some of which had had a hell of a lot more money spent on their cars than mine!!

Anyway, enough gabbling, here is part 3...

Part 3 - Click Here

I will post up the complete footage as soon as i've uploaded it.  There's about 45 minutes total footage so plenty more too see!
