Correct bit. vaux p No 90220434 stat housing should be with you Tuesday morning.I have proof of postage if it don't turn up. the housing needs a clean so remove stat, spray housing with "Mr muscle oven cleaner"leave for a bit ,then quick scrub and rinse, good as new.i would have done it but someone used the oven cleaner to clean the oven.....dunno what that's all about ??. anyway...hope your motor is purring again soon daz.

Ian said the cover is different,i don't know how though cus tiss the same engine, although mounted other way. not sure about this but i recon it should fit OK off cavalier with 2.0SE cus i have one for spares and it is same engine.looking at hjb astra cover might be diffrent. worth a trip to scrappy to check anyway.look for cav sri and cdi 2ltrs. some scrappys might not like the idea of trashing an engine just for the cover though.what happened to the cover you had on old engine?
