The interior light can be switched on py pulling the rotary switch for the headlights, so try pushing it in.
Try not to kick yourself too hard if it goes off though lol

Reminds me of my old boss - had several cavaliers in a row as company cars - each one kept for about two years

Anyway one time we went visiting a potential supplier of a new bit of kit up north and we left quite late afternoon any way as we gets closer to where the hotel should be he pulled over to the side of the road to look at the map.

Opened the door to get the interior light on

Looked at the map

Shut door and started to pull away again

He looked at me cos I was curling up trying not to piss myself - whats up he says

I just couldn't tell him tears were by this time streaming down my face and I couldn't stop the laughter

I managed to get out "pull over"

I got out walked round the car a few times and the got  back in composed again

See that switch the works the headlights - pull it

He did - and said wow - how did you know it did that!!! I've always thought it was a stupid design that you had to open the door to get the light on!!!

PMSL @ B'Stard's story! Grin Grin Grin

Thing is, I think the idea of pulling the switch is pretty crap!
OK, there's always the destruction manual (if all else fails!), but there's no indication on the switch that it needs pulling to illuminate the interior.

It had me foxed on some of my older Vauxhalls.  I'm sure Chevettes also had the interior light on the headlight switch?  I know early Nova's did & i remember doing a similar thing as BC to an ex-girlfriend of mine!
