I'm sure one of these days that numbers will completely replace letters and words in the art of human communication.

PC keyboards will be five times smaller (cos most of the keys wil be redundant) we won't need spell checkers any more - upper and lower case will be confined to folk tales and things that grandad used to talk about, and all of our letters and emails will be checked with a calculator.

Tell you what we could dump Arabic numerals all together and just revert back to Roman numerals where wev'e got the best of both worlds - XVCIIL etc etc.................

I'm wiv u on that 1, M8!

Had a similar thread on VXSCC about a year ago, and IIRC (there I go again!), we came to the conclusion that it's just the natural evolution of our language.

Shame really cos' "text speak" was developed primarily for mobile phones where the user is limited to 160 characters per SMS message.
Quite naturally you want to be able to say as much as you can whilst using as few words as possible.
So you start using numbers that sound like words or syllables (I'm waffling aren't I - anyhoo Iv'e started so I'll finish) hence the evolvement of the so called "text speak".
However (god - I'm even beginning to bore myself) when you are posting to a forum that has no restriction on the use of real words or even the number of characters used including images, pdfs' and hyperlinks - why make what you convey difficult for an "old fart" like me to understand.

I think ot takes all its info from the instrument cluster so if replacing the trip computer unit itself doesnt work try changing the clocks.  Wink

My old CD used to do this as well if I was using cruise control and decellerating - from what I can work out its about par for the course.  Huh

I think this thread has probably answered my question - but just to double check and make sure.

Will this fit straight into my CD 2.0i - are the looms in already ?
