I have removed the original radio from my 92 cdi and have fitted a new radio / cd player but dont seem to have a permanent live to the radio so every time i turn on the ignition i have to retune the radio.
Any thoughts would be appriciated

seems like a case of the perm live and the switched live bein connected the wrong way round on my sony stereo it was the red an yellow wires that needed swapping depends wat stereo yours is

Some stereo's (mine is a Kenwood for example) have bullet connectors on the perm & ignition live wires which can be swapped if need be. Check to see if yours has them, and if it has - swap 'em.

Although all the manufacturers opted into the ISO plug idea for the stereo's, it seems that someone got the diagram wrong when telling half the car manufacturers hence the need for swappable wiring.

confirm the above- fitted new radio yesterday with same problem swapped red and yellow over worked a treat.

two of the pull "U" removal tools for getting old radio`s out are available if anyone needs to borrow them Grin

Have to be honest here, but I joined the yellow and red wires together - same problem with JVC unit.

Works well now though! Grin

thanks for your help i swapped the red and yellow wires on the bullet connectors on the fuses and sorted
