Ok, i downloaded that colours map named "ice" very helpful but theirs more wires then their are shown on the chart!  I know their was a 10cd multi changer in the car before the previous owner knicked it maybe this is what the extra wires are for?  Their are 2 Red battery + wires comming into the dash which is confusing, heres a picture of what im up against

http://www.thefxcenter.com/dash.JPG

any help would be very greatly appriciated!

thanks all

Theres two chocolate blocks in there which are non standard, so I guess its anybodys guess as to whether there is standard or non standard wires connecting them but ... if its std wiring on a dippy GOING TO A GRUNDIG 4870 then it would be something like this ... (will publish in a minute ...)

yeah the tweeters split off further down the loom.

I hate it when stereo wire are like that.

I think your best bet is to identify the main ones if at all possible, then identify the speaker wire, then see whats left over and take a picture.

On Mine (K Reg CDXi) the tweeters are joined at the back of the plug, same colours as front speakers.
At least thats what I assume they are. Got 2 Blue, 2 Green, etc.

right, as stated in the post above, i got a new wiring loom off a donor gsi but without the cd changer wires which is ok as my car doesnt have one as it was taken.

anyway, ive found that their are double wires for the Front Right and Front Left speakers, assuming they break off for the tweaters as wippit said, but im just stumped as their are tweeters in the back of my car so why isnt their double wires for the rear also?

any ideas??? Huh

Thats actually standard issue 'barry idiot' wiring. IMHO the only way to repair or modify wiring is to solder and cover with heat shrink plastic.

Bullet connectors are just as BAD. Buy a soldering iron lad, they are cheap bits of kit for a basic one and the wiring will outlast the car. Bullet connectors like block connectors will fray the wiring and in a years time or so you start having problems again.
