I seem to be having a problem playing cds on my grundig 4870. When I select cd, it the display just says "CD", and nothing is played, rather than showing the track info e.g. "CD10T01" and playing the cd. The manual says if it displays "CD" to consult your vauxhall dealer. Has anyone come across this before, and is there anyway of sorting it out? cheers, rich.

maybe the cd changer just "hung" (crashed) and needed a hardware reset. Instead of disconnecting battery (I assume u mean car battery), simply unplug the 13pin din plug (press in small notch to disconnect male from female (black cable / blue cable) in boot (follow black cable from cd changer to connection point usually about 10 inches or so).

Maybe the motor spindle spinny thing (bit like a helter skelter mechanism) also needs greasing ... or drying out if boot gets damp ...
