That's a bit misleading!!!

I read it like that, and queried it.

Got an email back, and they were just under £400. Fitted like a dream, and far better quality than the Lotus original (made by The Dove Company).

you could try psg bodykits that's where i got my bonnet vents from, they were £50 but you do have to wait a while it took 2 months for them to come.

I've seen that and to me it reads as £900 + vat for a set of 4, which should work out at about 264 inc vat per arch

That's why I queried it.

Considering what I paid for the rest of my kit, I thought £400 was reasonable - and they fitted sooooooo well.

cheers fellas, been on psg site, £160 for the wheelarches, much more reasonable, gonna get me a set next month i reckon. unfortunately though there bumper wont fit the estate, might have a go at making one with an old boot spoiler, mounted upside down under the standard bumper. (thats what theres looks like theyve done)

thats all well and good for those who can afford to spend silly money for the right gear, but not everyones that fortunate mate, ive got a misses and four kids to support. its the fitting thats important anyway, even the best kit would look naff if its just slung on

lol im single and im just a tight ass!
whilst psg kits are not worth it if you are paying a body shop,as it cost more in labour to get it right,
most people on here are not affaid to take sand paper files, and hack saws and do it properly,
so in that case a psg is the way forward,
either way a lotus esate doesnt really matter as its perfect to the real thing as they were never made,
one the subject of a rear bumper,
why not hack the bottom off a gsi spoiler and mount it onto the estate bujmper

lol @ ian mine is a psg and the bloke did an awsome job fitting it but he did smooth it all in and change most bits as lets face it mine is never going to be a real lc lol but granted if i had the money i would get a genuine one as the front looks a lot better with the right size vents ok rant  over

I had a budget. Grin

Didn't last long though!!! Roll Eyes

Thing is, good stuff fits - right first time, right every time. Cheaper stuff might fit the panel it's intended for, but does it line up the the next panel, etc? All the Lotus bits can be unbolted in case of a shunt (Heaven forbid!!), therefore, the insurance company not necessarily writing the car off.

Sometimes, a bodyshop can spend more time getting it to fit than owt else, so the costs go up, but, of course, if you're talented enough to do it yerself, then that's no problem, and more power to yer elbow!
The guy that painted mine was gobsmacked at how easy the Lotus and BTB bits fitted, came off and went back on again!! He's more used to Chicken Paxo owners asking him to fit cheap, nasty flimsy crap bought from the pages of Lax Power.

So it goes, that what you save on buying a cheap kit, you could pay more than the diference in bodyshop charges and insurance wrangles.

I'm not suggesting that anyone skints themselves and buys the most expensive stuff going, either. Just my observations based on quite a few years experience................and learning the hard way!

cheers for all your replies fellas, my bodykit needs have been fulfilled, and i cant wait to get on with fitting it. Smiley Smiley  i cant afford the prices bodyshops charge, so im doing it myself, and i dont mind a bit of fettling to get it right, but i agree, if you can it afford you go for the best you can, its less hassle, but not everyone can so cheaper kits are a godsend to some Smiley Cool Cool
