Why did they have to make their brake lines out of steel! Was all setup with GM brake line to modify my existing setup to be more compatible with the new engine. Got everything out of the garage as you do, got all setup, got pipe flaring tool out.... hmmm not working, the pipe doesn't want to flare out. After a good 30 mins trying different methods and tightening the pipe clamp up with a pair of mole grips I called up a friend who comfirmed I was using the tool correctly (its his flaring tool).

At this point I didn't know what was wrong, I found a small section of copper brake pipe that was sitting in the flaring tool box, I tried it out and it worked! So I cleared everything up, back into the garage, locked the car and garage up, found the car keys and went down the local motorfactors...got back, pulled everything back out and got to work.

So today I managed to get only 1 hour's worth of work done! Oh well.... looks good tho!

In the long run this will be better, the 3 way union sits directly under the master cylinder which saves pipework.

Mmmmm flaring steel pipes is buddy hard work but it can be done, they never flare as easily or like you would expect. If yourdoing major mods it is prob worth your while to replace all the pipes with copper anyway.
