I have just brought this car but am having trouble finding any info on it.
Could anybody on here help?

Its an E reg, 72,000 miles, 3.0, Black with Connought Design on a metal badge on the back. full connought design bodykit and alloys.
Black and red leather interior, digital dash, after market air con, an old telephone system in the boot and 2 strange electrical plugs - one above the passenger headlamp and the other in the back bumper - no idea what they do.

any info on history, value (new, used), spec would be a great help.

Thanks

will be taking some pics of it at weekend.
it a bit tatty so needs a good clean up.

anybody got any details on the connought design history?
even the rear door cards have 'cd' designed into the pattern.

it has been somebodies pride and joy at somepoint.
there is a very old manchester airport staff parking permit in the window - could have been a pilots car?

cheers

I think - and don't quote me - that connought were/are a styling/design house that did several cars as examples - I remember seeing a magazine article on a Senny done by them - sounds very similar - that had CD logo on the seats and door cards.....

I'll have a dig through my old mags and see if I can find the article

IF it is connought design then they were featured in a small bit in this months EVO magazine from memory on a concept car but I can't remember if there were any contact details

Anyway - all waiting for pics now!!!

IIRC Connaught is an old racing car firm, plus they are also making a new 2.0 V10 supercar.
At one time there was a link with BRM and other racing associatons. There was also a link with aero engines, the likes of Armstrong Siddley and Vickers.

Here's an interesting link
http://atlasf1.autosport.com/2001/can/preview/okeefe.html

Enjoy, from the wonders of google.

Right eventually found what I was looking for

Top Car magazine Apr 1994

Senator 3.0i 12V Turbo Reg F44 FNE (with 290 bhp claimed) using a auto to manual conversion Getrag 265 gearbox

Creator and owner Andrew Mckenzie of "Connaught Design" in Hayes (old phone number was 081-573-0983)

Used a miss match of Custom hand built bumpers (although they look very similar to irmscher ones) and irmscher grill and boot spoiler. Headlamp wipers removed too - I wondered why I always did that to all my cars!!!

Lowered by about 40mm

Interior a mix of Leather and alcantara Wilton Carpets All wood trim jet laquered in black "CD" logos on seats and door trims

Oh and the whole thing was stuffed full of small cubes you put in your drink in the summer apparently  Roll Eyes

emailed connought motor co (thanks for the link bstardchild) - it isnt one of theirs
But "Creator and owner Andrew Mckenzie of "Connaught Design" in Hayes" - im sure its one of their cars.
The door cards have the "CD" logos printed black on red.

bstardchild would you be able to post any pics form the mag?

cheers

Sorry but that would be breach of copywrite so I wouldn't be happy to do that..... It's a Senny anyway not a Carlton thats featured

One of the guys who re-founded the connaught motor company is my ex's step dad. (basically, my son's grandad.)

http://www.connaughtmotorco.co.uk/

only 100 vehicles are planned. IIRC.

Having seen the pictures now it was almost certainly done by the same place that did the Senny version

I'm assuming that the base car was a GSi 3.0 12V manual

The front bumper was probably made from the same mould as the Senny one and the door pods and skirts are custom ones

having trouble identifying the wheels tho!! i've seen the design before but can't remember where!!

my number plate starts E44 - and the senny starts F44!!!

The wheels are Connought Design - its embosed in the alloy.
the base car is a GSi 3.0 12v

The rear diff went at on saturday so replaced it from a doner 12v - drives ok now

paid the vast price of 650!

the vin plate says ADAM OPAL - how much info can i get from the vin?

Nope - it's been engraved milled afterwards - still can't remember where I've seen em tho - give me time it'll come to me!!!

Yeah that was obvious really

Diffs are normally strong they whine a bit as they get old but thats it - makes me wonder if the cubic capacity is OE

You F'ing stole it!!!

Those wheels look like an ATS or Speedline design to me.

Might have the maker's stamp on the inside??
