Do us all a favour chap and stop shouting!! TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF!!

I personally have saved and helped save quite a few carltons i have at this moment in time 3 plus an astra

unfortunately what with work, family and other commitments there isnt enough time to save all of them nor at the moment do i have room for them plus it is too bloody cold!

There is a danger that we end up with more Carltons etc than we have space for.

I effectively have a spare Carlton that is burning a hole in my (empty) pocket .

I would like to see them all saved but its not going to happen. Best is to break the rough ones for spares.

One day, I agree, we will wish we had all the bits and cars that we threw away.

We could, however, do with a list of "most likely to need spares". For example parts that are no longer available new or parts that regularly fail. But you, guessed it, most times any car being broken will have either lost those parts already or be the very reason you are seeing it as a scrapper.

The big danger for now imo is that scrap yards are no longer keeping Carltons - seems anything older than about seven years goes straight to the crusher !.

The good ones will still be around and the rough and unwanted ones will disappear into the Carlton heaven. We need somebody with a big field with a big shed somewhere.......

Still plenty of sad ones around but my long search shows that there are not many good ones on the market and with the financial sqeeze on I can see many fairly good ones going to the scrappy cos there is nowhere else to go.

Just need an airfield with a disused (but dry) hangar - not too many of those about then...

There are plenty of unused large covered areas but the problem for everybody is the land owners will not reduce the rents and that can be seen with the number of empty shops. Empty factories and storage units also. They would rather leave them empty than drop the rents.

Once again, greed is the culprit. Why do folk have to be greedy?

Apparently, on the high street, a landlord will rent a shop out for peanuts just to avoid being liable for the rates. Thats why there are so many charity shops around - thay can avoid having to pay the rates. If this is true then perhaps we need to set up a charity (not for profit organisation) and help a landowner save on the rates for a field and outbuilding. Brainstorming over - Wonder if this will work ?.
