I know where there is a k&n panel filter for a 3.0 24v. Mine is a 2.0 8v.
My question is, do the Carltons share the same airbox regardless of engine size, or are the 6 pot ones different?
I have had a thought, who said that's dangerous? Anyways, if the airboxes are different, do they share the same mountings?
Thanks in advance.

So if it doesn't get clogged with the crap that it's stopping going into the engine, doesn't that mean that it's not stopping the crap going into the engine

True, according to the tests in the link below, a CLEAN K&N filter gives 0.14% better air flow than a standard paper filter http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/airfilter/airtest2.htmI've just put a new standard filter in I wonder why car manufacturers tell you to change them after a certain mileage if they're filtering so much better by then

Indeed ! and an abstract from the air filtration section of the link I quote says : - "although Brand X indicates that the filtration efficiency of their filters increases as they collect dirt, so does the efficiency of paper filters. Paper just happens to lose air flow much more quickly." So according to the discussion point that dirty filters filter better; paper filters filter better quicker than the expensive panel filters Personally I'm not into 'recreational design changes' so I'm going to stick with the boring old paper filters, changed at the recommended intervals

Here's "a cunning ploy" : - Install a new panel filter, rev the engine and feed some of the contents of your vacuum cleaner bag into the air intake. That should quickly improve the filtration efficiency.
